The end of our Class of 2011

What a fantastic year it has been.  Thank you to all the children in Room 1 in 2011 for being such an awesome group to teach.  We have made some huge steps in our learning together and I will miss teaching you all.  Good luck for 2012, I know you will work hard and make great achievements.
Take care from Mrs Griffin.

Our Place Value Caterpillars

We are learning about place value.  We made place value caterpillars using egg cartons.  Each egg cup is a different place value.  We put beans in our cups and told the class what our number was.  We had to check on the board to see which order the place value went.

Pounamu Syndicate's Big Day Out

We had a trip to the park for a picnic and play, then off to the pools for a swim.  It was a great day.

Making finger puppets

We are learning how to sew a simple stitch to make a finger puppet.
It took a lot of concentration and we found it quite challenging.
It was lots of fun.  We can't wait to act out some plays with our finger puppets.

Making Streamers

Mrs Griffin was surprised when she realised that lots of people in Room 1 had no idea what a streamer was, so she decided we should make some streamers.  We had such a great time.  We started off all having a go individually, but before long some people were helping others and working together to make great streamers.  We loved it so much that we kept making them to create a beautiful colourful display in our classroom.  Do you like our streamers?
